CASE STUDYPrecision Wire ComponentsMedical device manufacturing is a dynamic industry, requiring manufacturers to offer quick turnaround, high quality and competitive pricing. Precision Wire Components located in Tualatin, Oregon, had these necessities when they selected Weaver Technologies to provide their Modular Cleanroom.
Precision Wire Components was moving into a larger facility to house their increased production capacity. This expansion required a modular cleanroom in which they could fabricate, clean and assemble their medical device components. Their unique processes demanded production to take place in an ISO 8 cleanroom (fka Fed Std 209E Class 100,000), with modularity for future expansion as their product demand grew. Weaver Technologies' cleanroom products were a perfect fit. We provided a Simplex AirLock Modular Enclosure with Clear Flexible PVC wall panels and 2" Extruded Aluminum Ceiling Grid with 2' x 4' openings. Then the ceiling was fitted with the appropriate number of motorized HEPA Filtered Fan Units, cleanroom Light Fixtures and Vinyl Coated Ceiling Tiles. The result was a modular ISO 8 cleanroom. Weaver Technologies also provided cleanroom furniture and cleanroom supplies used for the operation of their cleanroom. Two years after the initial installation, Precision Wire Component's production capacity increased. Fortunately the designed modularity of the AirLock enclosure proved to be the right choice. With simply adding aluminum framed wall panels, additional 2' x 4' ceiling panels, HEPA filters, lights and tiles, the cleanroom increased in size to meet the new production demands. This was all done over a weekend and production was able to continue without down time.
